Dallas Wind Symphony performs Eli Fieldsteel's Fanfare for Brass and Percussion

Eli Fieldsteel's brass and percussion fanfare, "At The Speed Of Sound", was selected for performance by the Dallas Wind Symphony. The piece was performed on Valentine's Day by members of the Dallas Wind Symphony and by members of the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing Arts, in the Meyerson Symphony Center lobby in Dallas, as part of the annual DWS Brass Fanfare Competition.

UT Composer Eli Fieldsteel Wins First Prize in the 2012 ASCAP/SEAMUS Student Commission Competition

DMA Composition student Eli Fieldsteel was selected as a finalist in the 2012 ASCAP/SEAMUS Student Commission Competition, and was later awarded first prize at Lawrence University during the annual SEAMUS Conference. The winning composition was Fieldsteel's work for Trumpet and Electronic Sound, "Fractus I."

Eli Fieldsteel awarded first prize in the Bandmasters Academic Society of Japan Competition for School Band

DMA student Eli Fieldsteel's composition, Fantasy for Wind Symphony, was awarded first prize in the first annual Bandmasters Academic Society of Japan Competition for School Band. The piece was performed in Tokyo by the Kawagoe Sohwa Wind Ensemble, conducted by Sato Masato.
