Lane Harder (DMA) received a 2010-2011 ASCAPlus Award from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.  It is an annual award given to emerging and mid-career composers whose main activity is outside of broadcast media, whose performances are primarily in venues not surveyed by ASCAP, and/or whose catalogs have prestige value for which they otherwise would not be compensated.  A cash award is paid to each recipient, and the award is based on panel review considering merit as well as the composer's work in the context of all other applicants.
