Name
Jonathan Fielder
Biography

I'm a composer of experimental electroacoustic and acoustic music. I'm very interested in spatialized sound, interactivity, algorithmic and stochastic processes and development of a single sound object in long-form pieces. I live in Austin, TX. Some things that inspire me: science, mathematics, landscapes, the human voice, literature, slam poetry. Some things that don't inspire me: pseudoscience, daytime television, surf music (old and new), non-slam poetry.

My music has been presented at the SEAMUS conference, International Computer Music Conference (2015, Denton, TX), The Toronto International Electroacoustic Symposium, Electronic Music Midwest, The Electroacoustic Barn Dance, The International Double Reed Society Conference (2013 and 2016), Omaha Under the Radar, the National Student Electronic Music Event, CEMI-Circles, The Kansas City Electronic Music Association Festival, Something Said Only Once and the Northern Ohio Music Exchange. I received second prize in the 2016 ASCAP/SEAMUS Student Commission, resulting in the commissioning of a new work (Kerplunkte) for Keith Kirchoff.
