Biography

DONALD HALE, JR. (b. December 19, 1995) is a 21 year old composer and conductor from Laredo, Texas. He is a graduate of United High School. He is currently a member of the University of Texas Longhorn Band and Wind Symphony, as well as the University of Texas Chamber Singers. His former composition professors are Mikolaj Gorécki, Yevgeniy Sharlat, and Donald Grantham. His work has been read and performed by the Alexander High School Wind Symphony, the United High School Wind Ensemble, Laredo Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Laredo Philharmonic Orchestra, Chorus Austin Chamber Ensemble, and University of Texas Wind Ensemble. He is currently studying with Russell Podgorsek, and is most excited to grow under the tutelage of the UT Composition Faculty.
