Biography

DONALD HALE, JR. (b. December 19, 1995) is a 22 year old composer and conductor from Laredo, Texas. He is a graduate of United High School. He has been a member of The University of Texas Longhorn Band, Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, Symphony Band, New Music Ensemble, as well as the University of Texas Chamber Singers and Concert Chorale. His former composition professors are Mikolaj Gorécki, Yevgeniy Sharlat, and Russell Podgorsek. His work has been read and performed by the Alexander High School Wind Symphony, the United High School Wind Ensemble, Laredo Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Laredo Philharmonic Orchestra, Chorus Austin Chamber Ensemble, Collegium Musicum, and University of Texas Wind Ensemble. He is currently studying with Donald Grantham, and is most excited to grow under the tutelage of the UT Composition Faculty.
